power politics corruption nexus has taken such a deep root now that a serious overhaul is needed to uproot it, if party A is guilty of corruption party B shows us that they are not far behind.<br the 1996 Eng tour that few frnds followed on ESPN and I was trying to tune my red transistor to freq such that i cud barely hear what was happening or the Independence Cup in Dhaka.....the complete class in school was in the room of Dhobi watching it....later he regretted letting us watch it :p..... Hit of Kanitkar in that match that won us the Cup........the Sharjah Storm that can not be and will not be ever emulated.......the 2001 kolkatta test lying on the couch for the inevitable to happen for India to fold, but that was not happening at all half way through the day a hope kindled may be we can save this, by the end of the end it was wow!!! can we win this and thts exactly wat we did WIN it....or the 2003 WC which was preceded by horrific series in NZ and a humiliating loss to the Aussies at the tym we were praying that somehow we shud make it to the semis and we did one better than that...lets pretend the final never happened....or the Monkeygate that followed it in the series down under....then Aussies found a new innovative way to strike back Wid Greg Chappel.....the division of Indian team started leading us to the WC 2007.....or shud i start from the ERA of a person called M.S. Dhoni....stated at the helm after recommendation of none other than SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR.......so shud I start from the amazing T20 WC in which we didnt even know the rules till India played the first game.......or the absorbing SA series.......or is this is a new beginning WC2011....
Ahhhhhhh.........let me not think tooo much of nething lets NJOY the moment.......will think later where to start........ its a dream that has finally been realized..... a CUP has found a holder that deserved it long tym bak..... :)

Summer

So my first summer in the USA is nearing its end.
It was an eventful summer to say the least...it was a never ending 3 months, real colors of a lot people were unveiled, the inner strength of people tested and showcased.
It was a great summer coz my Mom was here and I got to spend a lot of time with her and my sister.
i came to know that it is so simple to exploit me and m not the only 1 being exploited. At times i found I was the one exploiting people and was exposed to a very vicious face of life that i had always failed to look into.
I am so thankful to this summer that it introduced me to the hard reality of life. its not as if i have stopped exploiting people or being exploited upon but now when such things are happening I am totally aware of these things and have started to work on solution for that.

Glitz, glamour, IPL and new resolve

Its been that kind of week for me...lots of ups and down...till date i havent written a blog about me...this is the first one....
The week started on a hard note for me there were lot of issues bothering me and as the week went by it became more clear and problems just cleared themselves....there were some high points also my fav sports person Sachin Tendulkar shutoff his critics on one more topic.... Since the CES 2010 when many companies showed their tablets everything was discarded even without a look in anticipation of the iSlate (the rumored name of the apple tablet). For weeks there rumor mills were on a high of what it looks like and how wonderfully it works. Finally when Steve Jobs introduced it on Jan 27th 10.00 am PST all the rumor mills were shut out. We had seen the iPad or should a say an enlarged version of the iPhone.
Lets look at what works for the iPad. It has good 1Ghz processor created by apple, all of the iPhone applications will work on it, it looks sleek (don’t know how it weighs- claimed to be light), has a powerful battery life, Wi-fi- 3G enabled amazing display for the photos and e-reader (kindle should be wary of this) and that’s it, cant think of anything other than that.
For me what doesn’t work: the memory size for a device that claims to be netbook killer has unusually small capacity, neither there is extended memory support, no multi tasking, same OS as iPhone 3GS, don’t understand much difference from iTouch except that the screen is larger, Price every one is gung ho how cheap it is!!!!!!!!! Is it me only…... to be able to get a 3G enabled 64GB iPad you need to shed $829 thats expensive I will get a top laptop for that price and for a device that does half of the things of laptop why waste that much money.
All in all I think that apple has a decent product and it will find its audience. Its much improved than Newton but I can’t say that they have a winner at hand like they did with iPhone; this time apple might get the initial rave reviews because of the euphoria surrounding it but once the euphoria subsides they will have a "Job" (pun intended) at hand to sell it with current specs. It’s a neat product but I do not believe it’s a media revolution as its being made out to be. With 4G round the corner I expect apple to make many changes and release a better version by next year and who knows that might be the media revolution everyone is waiting for.

The Day Devil Cried…..

So India was attacked yet again…The regularity that India gets struck by these terrorist and the new innovative ways that they come up with would make any auto manufacturer envious that they can not do the same. Let’s not loose the seriousness of the plot here. This time the reaction has been different. This attack seems to have jolted the INDIANS from their sleep. There is outcry against the POLITICIANS and against their NO ACTION policy. Our politicians believe that just condemning an act is enough and no action needs to be taken so that these things do not repeat in the future what else would describe the number of BLASTS that our country has faced this year. IF ANY POLITICAL PARTY was serious then this would have not been allowed. All the political parties are trying to gain POLITICAL advantage after this GHASTLY act conducted by the terrorists. Tell me if BJP was any serious about terrorism and providing our police force with better facilities why was the POLICE REFORM ACT not passed under their LEADERSHIP, why was KANDAHAR left to happen? To Save 250 ppl we have lost more than 5000 ppl to these peoples tell me which option was better……
Why would a person kill another person just because he/she is well dressed? HOW CAN YOU KILL CHILDREN????? The other thing that bothers me is every one is saying this is INDIA’s 9/11… NO this is not INDIA’s 9/11… this is INDIA’s 26/11… There is no comparison between 9/11 and 26/11 even though lot more people were killed in 9/11, I say this coz…. 9/11 was over in few hours the HORROR images and the HORROR that people saved happened for less than 24 hours……here the HORROR continued for more than 60 hours… I pray to GOD that the CHILDREN watching this do not lose their HUMAN touch and would be able to come out of this HORRIFIC ACT.
These things above I was talking about the political fall out of the HORROR that we have faced in the last week and are still reeling under. The fact remains that 10 people came and held a nation of more than a BILLION to RANSOM for more than 60 hours and that too for NO REASON. If anyone knows the reason for their INSANITY, I can not even call them ANIMAL coz ANIMALS are much better than them in Behaviour…PLS LET ME KNOW. Even DEVIL has reason when he does some act but these PPL devoid of any motive went on the killing spree that even DEVIL would have found hard to understand and I believe would be CRYING…………………………

B.A.D

Yet another blast in India to be precise 4th this year. After Jaipur, Bangalore, Ahemdabad it was turn of our National Capital to be on the Terror RADAR. With this the terrorist claim they have achieved the Mission BAD and our News Channels predict the whole operation name is BAD MAN with MAN standing for Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nagpur. But every one has conveniently forgot about the JAIPUR blasts and what does that J stand for. According to me there was no plan B.A.D. and it was just ironic that it turned out that way. News channels are not doing any help by stating that the next few cities could be these.
Why should any city be target of any of the the BOMB attacks. Our Security agencies off the camera state that it takes only 1 success to cause destruction for the terrorists and police forces 100's of attempts to stop them become a laughing stock. I would like to ask the security agencies when was the last time did they catch a hold of a Mastermind before the blasts when was the last time were they able to diffuse all the bombs. I heard Congress spokesperson praising Delhi Police for diffusing 4 Bombs, but what about the failure to prevent the remaining 5? and according to that person we citizens should now adjust with these blasts as the security agencies can only react. This is a person speaking whose party has the Government.
Our Intelligence agencies have learnt a lesson from previous blasts;now every two three months they publicly say that there are going to blasts in some prominent cities and wipe their hands off saying "HUMNE tho BOLA tha".
I do not blame the security agencies entirely for this; it is the administration that is busy playing Politics in India and has forgotten that it has some national duties. During the discussions on TV I learnt that the last time IPC was recruited according to the population was in the year 1984 and since then we are just filling the vacant posts and not creating new. The ratio of Police to Civilian is about 120:100000 then how can we expect our Policing to be effect.
Our Vote bank politics makes a mockery of our Democracy when all the pointers towards the Bombs being Blasted across our country point solely to one Organisation "SIMI" our PEOPLE's party's SECULAR politicians say they being targeted because they are from the "MINORITY" community. For them the BAN by SC is only interim which will be lifted soon. Come on LEADERS show some LEADERSHIP rise above all this for once show that you care for this NATION for which our ancestors fought for more than 250 years to free from the BRITISHERS.
Our Home minister changes clothes 3 times during the day blasts took place and it becomes National News and to top it all he comes on Television to Defend himself.

I say these are tough times that India is facing and it will take some tough decisions may be unpopular with certain sections of the societies. There is debate on should we get tougher LAWS. Government argues that present laws are good enough. I say OK if you think so, but then implement them. AFZAL GURU has been tried by the existing the laws and has been found guilty by our SC but this government is not having the GUTS to execute him because the separatists in KASHMIR has warned of a backlash if they do so. If our government is listening KASHMIR is already burning on the issue of LAND what else can the separatists do if you hang TERRORIST who has tried to take away the SYMBOL of our DEMOCRACY from the Delhi Landscape or is there some other reason for not hanging him???
I say AFZAL GURU should have succeeded in his plans and may be then we would have had some politicians who care for this NATION and its people. Its high time our STATE and NATIONAL legislatures did something for the country and its people

INDIA DIVIDED

Hi Everyone. I am writing after a gap of few months. I have not written in these months is partly because I have been busy with my office work and bit because I am CONFUSED about integrity of my country. Is our Nationalism, Patriotism so weak that a 40 hectare land is all that matters? Do our lives only center on the region that we follow or the region that we live in and the language that should be followed there? Does religion has such a great precedence in our NATIONAL interest that we are ready to annihilate a complete community? Does Politics come over Humanitarian deeds? Does TRP’s matter more than National Unity?
Unfortunately all the questions I have asked above have been answered in YES in the past months and I have never seen India disintegrate so fast.
In Kashmir the state government started the move to grant the land to the HINDUS to gain the political mileage from the BJP, but the move back fired with the separatists fuelling violence in the valley and the government revoked the order thinking that ever so Adjusting Hindus will take the decision lying down. But How Wrong were they proven. Within days a new SAMITI was formed and agitation like never before was conducted in Jammu. BJP and other smaller “HINDU” parties supported the samiti initially; but the monster they supported grew so large that it went out of their hand to control them. Ditto situation happened in Kashmir all the “SECULAR” forces of Indian Politics gave SEPRATIST a Burning ISSUE to reignite their dwindling fire for Separatism.

HEAVEN on EARTH was divided.

I still don’t see any concrete steps taken to win the people back.
If our Politicians failed miserably on the Kashmir issue so did our Media. I have followed discussions conducted by Barkha Dutta for sometime now but in last few months I have started realizing that she is conducting the discussions with a bias. The discussion on the Kashmir issue was another example of that. She was so obsessed with Secession theory that she brought the discussion round about to the same point again and again. It was sad to see a journalist of her caliber falling in the TRAP of winning INTERNATIONAL ACCOLADES forgetting her National Duties.
Its all so simple for all of us to become Liberal and say that Freedom is a right for Kashmir and if they want we should give them after all we also got the FREEDOM for the BRITISHERS; aren’t we been like them when we oppress the Freedom struggle.
The fact of the matter is if we give freedom to Kashmir then the North East will demand Freedom; Punjab’s Dhidarwala will rise from the ashes again. All the work that previous governments and our ARMY have done will go waste.
If India decides to give Freedom to Kashmir the lot that would be most hurt would be the INDIAN Army after all they have given their BLOOD to keep Kashmir an integral part of India and then we speak of Freedom. It’s the worst kind of Betrayal we can do with our ARMY.
Another issue in the headlines is violence in Orissa due to the death of a VHP leader. This is a totally failure of the administration at the center and the State. They have not been able to implement the Conversion laws properly in the state and hence the state sees violence time and again. Its high time that the both the governments started the process of implementing the law.
The “river of Sorrow” KOSI has once again breached its bank and has spread across the state as never below. At this tragedy which our Prime Minister declared a NATIONAL CALAMITY I thought all politicians will put their foot down together to present One Face to overcome the Calamity. But again they have started the blame game. When will the politicians understand that the time to politics of One up man ship can be played after we have rescued our Countrymen.
Raj Thackrey again raised his head this time to implement a BMC order and modify the order according to his convienence. I want to ask RAJ who has given him the right to do all this, tell him that we still are in a Democratic Nation and if he wishes that everyone listens to his “diktats” then let him declare himself a “DICTATOR” and stage a COUP. As long as India is a Democratic setup he has no right to resort to Violent means to get his PARTY in HEADLINES. I hope that some one at the CENTER or the STATE will get enough GUTS to arrest this NOTORIOUS TERRORIST and charge him with TREASON.
I have heard of attempts in the past to disintegrate in the past and how India with its IRON hand curbed those attempts. I hope sincerely that we still have an IRON HAND and we will be able to show it to the ELEMENTS threatening our INTEGRITY sooner rather than later.

India This Month

Aarushi murder case has once again proved the insensitivity that exists in our police force while handling such manner and the pressure they find themselves in when the same is followed up by media. It also symbolized our Community which is turning “BARBARIC”. Nobody expected police to arrest the killers as soon as they arrived at the spot of crime, but there was an expectation that they would try and get as many leads as possible and then try to nab the killers. But they failed miserably, not even finding the body of the servant on the terrace.
The first time I saw it on NDTV, I thought what’s so special of this case there are 100’s of murder happening in India everyday so why focus on this? But how wrong I was; from the day 1 itself the case has turned into a very complex riddle. Police after destroying all the evidence could not find the killers so the easiest persons to target were the parents and so they were as they were in the house when the twin murder happened.
Please don’t get me wrong and think I am supporting the father, I am just asking questions on the many Loopholes left in the version by the police.

The other issue which moved me a lot was the violence of the GUJJAR community to convert themselves to ST from OBC’s for reservations. It was highly disturbing to see the events and even imagine what the leaders were demanding. They were saying we are even more backward than we actually think. This is precisely what all the students were protesting couple of years back when our great HRD minister brought in the issue of Reservation. If you do reservations on the basis of CASTE this was going to happen sooner or later. Reservations were brought in to unite our diverse communities. But I am afraid it is doing the reverse, hence we should have a strong re-look at our RESERVATION policy. I hope all the political parties have learnt a lesson from this and will find a better solution for the Under Privileged people. The violence in these protests were another sign of the growing INTOLEREANCE in our SOCIETY.

Moving on all this the other big things that happened in India were the arrival of the “GREAT KHALI”. The GOD had come to give us his DARSHAN here in INDIA. Media went behind him such a way that I have no words to describe. Everybody from Cricketers to film stars flocked with their Kids to meet the GREAT KHALI. One of our ministers has even proposed giving him some National Sports honor for bringing fame to India. Give me a break common, there are so many Wrestlers in India who have done so well in the International Events and are finding it difficult to make two ends meal and you are saying to give honor to a person who is doing acting of SPORTS. For me Khali is nothing more than a Stage Actor doing a fantastic job and that’s the end of the story. You can not give National Sports Honor to such persons, Sorry I strongly disagree with that.

How can I not mention about the IPL the league touted to change the face of World Cricket? My Team Mumbai Indians some how managed not to qualify for the Semifinals by losing 3 consecutive matches on the last ball, when they should have won all 3 of them thinking about the positions they were in the game, but then that’s the beauty of this game and that’s why we all love it.

Blah blah blah...blah blah

Seriously, is there is any NEWS worth reading or viewing happening in India. I have not come across one in the recent weeks. Whenever I On my Idiot Box I get to hear about one man everytime and that is King Khan...someday he is doing a item song, some day he is angry with someone, someday he is PROMOTING his IPL team, otherwise he is just giving interviews...but he makes sure he is there in everyday doze. If you get relieved of this then you get to hear of our "Future Prime Minister" Mr. Rahul Gandhi...Ppl can't you leave a person alone, this fella has been a disaster where ever he has campaigned and you want him to be our "Prime Minister", my suggestion is first let him learn how to run his party..then we would think of allowing him to run the country.
The Award taking topic was of the "CREAMY LAYER" not given reservation by the SC.....WOW what a gross injustice by SC..they are against the growth of BACKWARDNESS of our country and they are "STOPPING" ministers like Mr. Arjun Singh to take India into the "DARK AGES" how bad on part of the SC...I think GOD will punish them for doing this.
Seriously, anybody in the right frame of mind can not even put forth a single valid point of why is this wrong. I heard a whole debate on the "Big Fight" on NDTV but really could not understand why the "CREAMY LAYER" should get reservation; the gentlemen who were against the judgement were contradicting themselves so much and their imagination was so ABSURD I am still trying to make sense of that , I think if given right of "RESERVATION" on maths they would say 2+2 is "NOT" 4 but something else.
Another topic which has come up is INDIA winning the Kanpur Test match....OHhhh My GOD what has India done...they are not allowed to win...how did they do that...thts gross injustice to the other team..they must have manipulated match...YA..YA..they must have.....Yes Got it....They FIXED the pitch....they gave themselves the "HOME ADVANTAGE" of playing on a spinning track ...Oh Ghosh..what great injustice to the Visiting team....When India go to South Africa / Australia/England/West Indies they get a SPORTING WICKET which has lots of "BOUNCE" and "PACE" which helps FAST BOWLERS from both teams...but you see the PITCH at KANPUR only turned when Indian bowlers bowl see how well INDIANS can fix the match.....
Come on give me a break which team does not take HOME ADVANTAGE....hello anyone listening...We are playing TEST CRICKET...which means test of playing in different "CONDITIONS" and "SITUATIONS"....if ICC is so worried of TEST PITCHES...then only alternative is to have CEMENT WICKETS..which will have uniform BOUNCE and pace...
I am tired of surfing Television now.....If anyone has some interesting NEWS.....pls share...but I seriously urge "AAJ TAK" to stop airing about "KHALI" , if we want to watch him, we will watch him in "WWE ring" but not on your channel..plsssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Even Monkeys Fall from Trees

Here it go agains.....Indian Hockey touching a new low...not able to qualify for the Olympics for the first time in its history. But is it really a surprise...I dont think so and the answers lies in looking at whats been happening to the NATIONAL SPORT in the recent past. It losts its position in the governments supported sports..that should have been a indication that the things are not panning out very well for our NATIONAL SPORT. But a win at the ASIA CUP and everybody thought everything is FINE again and HOCKEY is its way to its glorious past again...so whats changed since ASIA CUP India have lost only two matches to ENGLAND and hence failed to qualify...but if the TEAM was on its way to its GLORIOUS PAST then shouldn't it be on it now as well ?
But the point is nobody bothers about HOCKEY thats the thing....all the MEDIA was shouting after INDIA failed to qualify but were they really bothered about the game... in CRICKET the moment a wicket falls or some milestone is reached its FLASHED across the NEWS. But in the HOCKEY qualifiers TEN SPORTS the BROADCASTER showed a Delayed version of the match and there was no UPDATE of the MATCH on the so called "BREAKING NEWS" TV Channels of whats happening in CHILE with our team and next day they had NO OTHER NEWS but to DISSECT what was wrong with INDIA's Performance.
Mr. Ric Charlesworth says he was not happy with the way the INDIAN Team PREPARED for the tournament...its good to be WISE now so why didnt he raise his voice earlier or was his voice MUTED due to a person called MR KPS GILL. Here is the HEAD of INDIAN HOCKEY FEDREATION on NATIONAL TELEVISION and CHOKING in his voice but still not ready to take the blame for the DEBACLE.
I think the one person who should not have taken the blame for the debacle was our COACH Joaquim Carvalho, I have seen INDIAN Players respond to his call and play as a TEAM, in the qualifiers FINAL if anyone would have seen it was in the first 5 mins that INDIA lost the match and in the rest of the game INDIANS were equal if not better than the ENGLISHMEN. But sadly its the COACH who has taken personal responsibilty for the failure where as its others who are responsible.
Also there is no point in blaming CRICKET for its debacle its as if the FAILED student of the class telling the TEACHER he failed because the TOPPER scored? whats the sense in that I dont get...if any of you have any idea of how CRICKET is responsible for HOCKEY's MESS please let me know..
Mr Gill says he will only step down after he resurrects the INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM, Mr GILL we have had enough of your NON SENSE for last DECADE, please go and enjoy your life in RETIREMENT, I am sad to use such words for such a great person but SORRY he has no place in INDIAN HOCKEY and FRANKLY speaking he NEVER HAD ONE.
As I have said in the TITLE "Even Monkeys Fall from Trees", but it is what do we learn from that fall, if we want we can continue the FREE FALL we are in HOCKEY right now or we can get determined and stop the buck and start the rebuilding of the structure, we are one of the best teams at the U-19 levels for some time now so why not the INTERNATIONAL Level, we need to do some real hard soul searching and we do not need people like MR GILL who have tooo much SELF EGO because of which the game has reached this state.

The Rise of the "RAJ"

Last few days have been very confusing for me. I am in a identity crisis right now. Since childhood everyone used to ask me what is my native place and I used to answer my Dad is from Rajasthan but I am born and brought up in Maharashtra. Now I am confused am I Maharashtrian or a North Indian. Earlier it didn't matter to me coz I considered myself INDIAN and thought that was all that I needed to know about my Identity.
In Last Few Days Mr. Raj Thackery has raised the questions of North Indians mainly UP and Bihar in his public addressals. But what Mr. Thackery has forgot is North India consists of many more states than just these Two and the Migrants to Mumbai are coming from all over INDIA including South. I am confused when Mr. Thackery says that he protecting the LOCALS from outsider. So how did Mr. Thackery arrive at this conclusion that people from only these two states are outsiders and not rest.
Why is Mr. Thackery so skeptical of speaking to the English Media whom he blames to have blowed the crisis out of proportion by showing the same visual again and again. Mr. Thackery only 1 question why did you TARGET that poor Taxi Driver and the Bhel Puri wala, if you admit that was a mistake are you going to compensate them and APOLOGISE to them on camera as you HIT them.
You say that there has cultural problem with the MIGRANTS. Tell me Mr. Thackery if Somebody can Celebrate CHRISTMAS,DIWALI,ID then why cant some one celebrate CHHAT I can not understand that.
The sooner Mr. Thackery understands that we are living in a era of GLOBALISATION, so not only people from other states of our country but people of OTHER COUNTRIES are looking at JOB Opportunities all over the world and they will grab it if they can DELIVER. SO what drives this North Indians? It is the tendency for survival. They will go that extra mile to earn that BREAD. If a North Indian can come and start a Bhel Puri Stall why cant a Marathi Manoos do that? does anybody stops him? I know for the RICKSHAW Drivers in PUNE mostly the so called MARATHI Manoos they behave as if they are doing a FAVOR by giving us the service and for that also they overcharge us. But thats another Issue I will write some other day.
So many Farmers are committing suscide, agreed the weather has not favoured them in the last decade and survival is very very difficult, but similar is the case in BIHAR. People there started MIGRATING for better pastures and were ready to work that much harder as desired by Life. I should not comment much on this coz I dont know much about the situation of FARMERS but from outside what appears I have mentioned.
I want to ask Mr. Thackery that his Party workers damaged 70 Buses alone in Pune. To whom does this BUS Belonged to?Whose MONEY was BURNT in the broad daylight? Wasnt MARATHI MANOOS Money there........
Your Workers Pelted stone at SCHOOL BUS...FOR GOD's Sake you did not even leave little innocent children who dont even understand what you are talking. WASN'T there a Marathi Manoos KID in that Bus.
If you say that NO OUTSIDERS will be allowed in MAHARASHTRA from now onwards. Then what right do we have to Question the WEST when they want INDIANS out of their Country so that their JOBS could be saved, IT INDUSTRY will shut down in days not even months if that happens and then again the Marathi Manoos will feel the pinch; so then what do you plan we Declare WAR with the country who BANS us? But what will your justification for that?
Mr. Thackery for his Political Gains has used this as "STUNT" issue; he has got his 15 seconds on the National Television; a political party with not much significance in Maharashtra has became famous all over the country in matter of days and stratergy has worked.
But I would just ask one question WHAT is the PRICE that this STATE has payed for the RISE of Mr. RAJ. Now when I go about in the Company Canteen; I see more people discussing from where does one belongs rather than chit chatting or having a good time.
Its High time Indian Judicial System took a HARD look at such NOTORIOUS TERRORIST of Democracy and dealt them with FIRM hand otherwise we will have many more RAJ THACKERY'S in the future.

We are the Champions

Undoubtedly.... Aussies have been the dominating in cricket for sometime now but they are not the CHAMPIONS, they are the team everyone wants to beat. Read the words carefully "THEY ARE THE TEAM EVERY ONE WANTS TO BEAT" and not "Every one wanna Emulate". Why??

Because when you are champions there are added responsibilities on you than just to stay at the top. You are looked by the young kids and they aspire to be you or be part of you someday.

Thats why Michael Jordan,Micheal Schumacher have been such GREAT champions and Ambassodar's for their sports. But unfortunately the same can not be said of the Aussie cricket team.

You would argue that I am comparing Individuals to a Team but then Cricket is more of a TEAM game than any other game, except Football I guess and there you would find a WORTHY CHAMPIONS in name of "BRAZIL".

Why is there this difference then? It is because the spirit in which they play the game. Till the time things go in their favor they love and it and when they don't then its better that the KIDS stop watching the game.

Aussies have long been of the attitude that Umpires are there to make a decision and so why should they walk, then their VICE CAPTAIN ADAM GILCHRIST one FINE Morning got a INNER CONSCIOUS to WALK ; if he was out. It was ok if he kept it to himself about that but he expected the opposition batsman to do the same and if they didn't, they would get a speech on it till the time they were on the crease When his own team mates were doing otherwise. So I always wanted to ask where his INNER CONCIOUS was when he could appealed for a WRONG DECISION Ferociously. Tell me how can you say ok I will be Truthful when I bat and not so when I field or the Other way round (Ricky Ponting in case). If you are gonna be truthful you got to be 100% everything you do in the game has to be fair and not as per your convienece in that case it is very hard to have TRUST in you.

Aussies have been long known for their BANTER on the field, but when the opposition start the same AUSSIES feel OFFENDED and RACIAL.

To be champions you should be above all this. For you the sport should matter all that it is and nothing else. Your game should be such that the SPIRIT of the SPORT is enhanced and more and more people should like their KIDS to emulate you in that sport. But I am sorry to say no Parent in this world would like their child to EMULATE the Aussie behavior on field. So Aussies have to decide something do they wanna remember as a DOMINATING Team or a Champion TEAM, coz if they want the latter they would wanna look at their attitudes first

Playing God

Match officials have always tended to "Play GOD" in any sport. Hence it is often good to have as least number of officials as possible officiating on a match. The less the number of people to judge the other people better it is for the sport.

There was this PHL (premier Hockey League) match I was watching and one team Orissa Stellars scored a jaffer of a field goal only to be disallowed by the refree while the replays clearly suggested otherwise. The game was halted for 5-7 minutes and even the Leagues Technical Director suggested to the Refree to go to the Third Umpire but to no avail. Another instance that comes to mind is of STEVE Bucknor and his relectance to give decisions in favour of INDIA, Indians have always been on the wrong side of Mr. Bucknor one would give anything to know the exact reason of his HATRED towards the Players of this country. One could just not forget the HeadMaster treatment he gave to Parthiv Patel on the famous India's tour to South Africa where the match refree thought he was not in the news so he handed over punishment to 7 Indian Players, whereas the Truth was far from what was potrayed by the Gentlemen Governing the game. Refree should always remember that Rules are there for their guidance and they should judge the situation and then use them instead of BLANKLY going by the BOOK. They are there to INTRPRET the RULES and not ENFORCE the rules they should remember.

Another instance of refreeing comes to mind, I dont remember the refree's name but he was famous for giving Penalties in the ManU games and most of the times in favour of the mentioned team.

So why does this happen, why do officials try and show again and again that on field they are GOD to the players. One can understand if a refree makes a mistake, afterall he is also Human and make mistake. But the problem arises when there is a pattern to the mistake, because then it is no longer a mistake it is SELF EGO that is imposed on the players.

The highest governing body of any sport should remember that they need to look at the performances of the GENTLEMEN looking after their sport time and again because its not only a team that is suffering because of this but the sport as a whole, because one RED CARD, one WRONG Decision at a crucial juncture of a game can ruin the whole game/Series for that matter.

I have heard a lot that decisions balance them out in the eventually when the carrer of the player is over. You tell me a decision to give Mr. Symmonds out (Correct Decision) when he was 20 something and team score 165/6 or something close to that, that would have been 7th wicket and who knows under that pressure could Mr. Hogg and Mr. Lee performed, or a Would a wrong decison with Mr Symmonds on 160 odd and team score near 500, you would argue that it balanced out that he got a decision in hisfavour and one against him.
But in fact the DAMAGE that decision has made to the game is irreparable. So one should not go by that logic when it comes to defending the Umpires when they give wrong decisons.

Everyone agrees that there would be mistakes but eveybody cry when there are BLUNDERS.

So Every Refree whenever he walks into to judge anything should remember people will forgive him if he makes mistake because he is not GOD but try and NOT PLAY GOD on the field

DOWN UNDER

India are Down Under in Australia and are literally "down under" after the 3rd day of the 1st Test match. A lot has been made of this Indian trip down under and how its only been the Indians that have tested the Aussies in the recent years.
I totally agree with that, but the hoopla around the 1st test was a bit too much from the fans I guess. Indians after all on this trip did not even get 1 full game to get accustomed to the bouncy nature of the Aussie wickets, and the umpiring has always been a question when the oppostion team has been Australia. It is that when there is a marginal decision umpire always tends to give it in the favor of the aussies and rarely when they go against them, Aussies get away and dont get Descent.
So lets talk about the Test thats currrently on at the MCG.
India made a commendable comback in the last session on the 1st day when aussies were threating to post a score in excess of 500 Indian bowlers stuck to their task and got the required wickets.
The problem has always been the batsmen whenever Indians have travelled abroad and whenever they have delivered Indians have performed well.
With the batting line up on paper Indians should have managed to score what aussies had done if not surpass them, but an usually Nervous start to the innings by Jaffer and Dravid made the task all the more difficult and aussie were all over the Indians before they knew any thing.
Also again helped by the umpires. Yuvraj Singh, the uncrowned prince of Indian Cricket, he must be wondering what wrong he has done, first he can not find a place in the first XI and when he does umpires are against him, this was the 2nd time in last 3 innings that he got a rough decision, and Match Refree Mike Procter thinks that he showed "DISSENT". I would like to know, if a Batsman is clearly NOT OUT and his team is in dire straits when he went into bat and is given a wrong decision, doesnt he even have the right to stand and look at the "HUMAN BEING" who has given him out, I have seen worse behavior from the AUSSIES, even abusing the umpire when they have been given out but NO ACTION against them.
But anyways, India got out for 196 thanks largely to SACHIN's blistering 62. He seemed to be on a altogehter different level from the rest of the Indian batsman, thats why he is the greatest this era or probably Cricket has ever seen.
Aussies after gaining a lead of 146 runs were always going to push for more and put the Indians in a corner, but they found going not all that smooth and have given Indians, a target of 499 runs. I dont know what was the thinking behind Ponting's declaration at that point, coz generally everybody try and push the score above he Psycologiocal 500 run mark but stopped just short of it.
It is an imposing target, no question about that and India will have to make a World Record if they chase down this target.
But I think Ponting has made a mistake, the wicket is not too hard for batting, its only that runs are little difficult to come by, but if you are ready to wait you can get the runs. Ponting has given Indians two full days to get to the target, however hard it may be but Ponting has given them a chance to get to that target; and with form that Sachin and Sourav are in, India would just be hoping if Rahul and Jaffer could a lay strong platform at the start. If that is done then we have a match on hands. For me the match depends on the 1st session on the 4th day, this is crucial session, if India manages to win this session then anything is possible afterall Cricket a Funny game.
